"Stand Up Tall" an Osteoporosis Workshop, Bristol, RI Open to the Public
Bristol, RI, September 15, 2008 -- EVOLUTION Bodywork & Nutrition, a Bristol, RI wellness center, today announced they will be hosting “Stand Up Tall” an hour and a half Osteoporosis Workshop on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 11 AM – 12: 30 PM. This workshop includes information about Osteoporosis causes, risk factors, prevention strategies, management, nutrition and risks to men.
"It's important to note that people who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and low bone mass are in danger of injury or fractures if they are not properly advised on what exercises to do, and what ones to avoid." said Kirsten DiChiappari, Director EVOLUTION bodywork & nutrition. "In Rhode Island, there are more than 150,000 people with low bone mass, putting them at high risk for osteoporosis and more than 45,000 people older than 50 with osteoporosis, according to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, 2002. This workshop addresses the needs of both groups, providing strategies to both prevent the disease and function with it."
Workshop Format: Part exercise class And part lecture/discussion, so dress comfortably.
